Old Keystone
Old Keystone is a star system within the The Drossfield. It is one of 33 systems you can warp to in CONTRABAND, and like every system it has its own ambient music, NPC traffic, and event probabilities that subtly shape the feel of being there.
Why pilots come to Old Keystone
Old Keystone sits in the The Drossfield, which gives it a default flavor: asteroid graveyard of the first fold war. Within that frame, Old Keystone has its own particular use case. Some pilots route through it for the trade spreads, others for the side encounters that fire only here. A handful pass through purely to trigger a story flag.
What you can find here
Expect at least one of the following in Old Keystone: a small market with system-specific cargo, a random encounter (combat or trade), an NPC line of dialogue keyed to your reputation in the region, and the chance of a faction patrol sweeping through. The exact mix depends on which chapter you are in.
Travel and warp
Warping into Old Keystone costs the same fuel as any other system in the The Drossfield. Plan your warp chain carefully on long trips — fuel is one of the few hard constraints in the early game, and double-warping inefficiently is one of the most common ways new pilots stall their progress.

If this is your first time entering Old Keystone, dock if you can. Many systems gate their best content behind a single dock event that fires once per playthrough.
