Scourge reputation guide

Scourge reputation guide — this guide explains how to manage reputation with this faction over the course of a full run. Reputation in CONTRABAND has long arcs; small early decisions compound over 30 hours of play.

Starting reputation

Your starting reputation with this faction depends on choices you made in the prologue and Chapter 1. If you ignored them in early chapters, expect to start at 0 and need a few missions to climb above 25.

How to gain reputation

Mission completion is the most efficient method. Each completed mission grants 10–25 reputation depending on difficulty. Refusing or sabotaging missions for opposing factions also indirectly raises this faction's standing.

How to lose reputation

Direct hostility — attacking ships, stealing cargo, refusing to help when asked — loses reputation quickly. The recovery from -50 to +50 takes roughly 8 hours of focused effort.

Reputation thresholds

At +25, basic discounts apply. At +50, side missions unlock. At +80, faction-specific endgame content opens. At +100, you unlock a unique epilogue path. The thresholds work symmetrically on the negative side.

Faction conflicts

This faction conflicts with at least one other. Helping this one usually hurts the rival. Plan accordingly — most successful runs commit to a faction alignment by Chapter 2.

Endgame implications

Your final reputation with this faction influences which ending variants you can access. Pilots who push for +100 with one faction unlock a noticeably different epilogue.
