Abandon the timeline for a quiet life. Walk Away is one of four main endings in CONTRABAND, and like the others it has roughly 7 variants depending on which crew you brought, your faction reputations, and whether you completed certain side quests.

How to reach Walk Away

In Chapter 4, before entering the Keystone chamber, dock at Haven Station with a specific dialogue flag set in Chapter 3. The Walk Away path opens there.

What happens in this ending

You leave the role of pilot-eighteen behind. Someone else (often Vex, sometimes a crew member) takes over the choice. Your character lives a quiet life on Haven. The closing sequence is bittersweet.

Variants

The exact ending you see varies based on: which crew survived, your faction reputations, whether you befriended Vex, and a few smaller flags. There are roughly 7 distinct variants of Walk Away, each with different epilogue text.

Achievements unlocked

Reaching Walk Away unlocks the corresponding achievement. Reaching all four endings unlocks the All Endings achievement, and triggers a hidden message at the title screen on your next launch.
